NEEA has been holding annual conferences from its very inception on various economic issues concerning the North Eastern region of India. The association is also engaged in conducting talks, workshops and seminars on various current issues relevant to the North East. It is also publishing conference volumes and lectures. Collaborated with OKD Institute of Social Change and Development in organising the first Atul Goswami Memorial Lecture delivered by Prof. Atul Sarma, Vice Chancellor, Arunachal University on "why the Northeastern States Continue to Decelerate" on June 10, 2005 at Guwahati.
Organised a workshop on "Problems of Credit Delivery and Absorption in the Rural Areas of the North East" with the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Guwahati on December 3 & 4, 2004 at IIT Guwahati.
Collaborated with OKD Institute of Social Change and Development in organising the Atul Goswami Memorial Lecture delivered by Prof.Parth Sen of Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, on "Capital Flows to India: Too Much of a Good Thing on June 27, 2007 at Guwahati.
